I was on a jobsite today and saw this BII. I decided to talk to the guy about it and tell him about TRS and he said he's going to be selling it in a week or so because he's going to start using his "Suburban" cause he needs to tow.

It has 170,000 miles on the 2.9 and it started leaking oil from the drivers side valve cover gasket about 2 months ago he said. The A/C has completely been gone through by a shop and he has the reciept to prove it he says. He also said he got it from the original owner.

It appears to be in really good shape for an 89, and all I would want it for is a toy basically. Here's some pics I took today with my cell phone. Is it worth $900. I could probably get it for less. I'm thinking $750-$800? Thanks

Dang Allen, for $900 bucks & it runs but has a couple little issues (what RBV doesn't anyway?), it looks to be in good shape, not all beat up. If it's what you want, go for it. I think it's a pretty good deal, especially when comparing it to B2's around here. This isn't the rust belt so 99% of 'em are rust free. Around here, that one could sell for around $2000 & he'd get it.

I'd take it for $900

Yeah, if it's rust-free (should be around here), I'd say it's worth that. Mileage is a tad high, but then again, rust free and it runs... lol

Something tells me that logo on the steering wheel cover is just pure decoration though :icon_twisted:

Haha, yeah I even commented to him about the "Tazmanian Devil" sticker too.

His name is Rick and it's not even for sale yet for another week. I need to get money together first, and that won't happen until early next week so it should work out.

I just need a 4x4 at this point. It's been too long since I've had one. Thanks.

For that price, I don't see how you could really go wrong.

I know about the "getting the money together" thing. I'm trying to get together $800 for a 79 Bronco (like I used to have) to make into the family wheeling rig because the Ranger is just too small for the 3 of us anymore. I'll still keep the Ranger but I'll take off the 3" body lift, put in 4" lift coil springs, remove the leaf spring blocks, put the stock fenders back on, put 33" tires on it & give it to my daughter..........she'll have her license in less that 2 years.......and it'd take me about that long to build up that Bronco the way I want. Gotta wait for payday & see how much I have left after bills.

Looks good one thing i found out with thoose foot steps is they crack the floor pan if not installed right ,make sure you look right under it see how they mounted.

Thanks for the info Copter!

Pretty much the same way here too Larry.....lol. Sucks don't it? haha

Well at least we can pay our bills huh? I just noticed my Ranger in the background of the first pic of the BII. Don't be surprised if she's in my driveway in about a week though.

Well I was on this same jobsite again today and ran into Rick. I told him I get paid every Friday but I could'nt buy it tomorrow because I needed to buy a Ranger engine, but that I could buy it next Friday.

He said no problem do I really want it? I told him yes.

I also found out today that it's an automatic. Is this good or bad? I really know nothing about these BII's so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not the best but if you take care of it and treat it well (no towing), it should do what you need it to.

Pull the oil cap. Snot = <$500.

Leaky valve covers are ignorable. But if it has an automatic, give it a stall test and sniff the ATF (burnt = bad).

Also look for evidence of rear end leaks, and of course listen for noises while driving.

If it's in good shape, $900 is reasonable.
