So heres the scoop. I bought my truck as a 94. It was built 11/94 which I would consider to be the 95 model year, since the next year usually comes out a couple months early. I have people tell me that its a 94, 94 1/2, and 95. I know the parts are interchangeable, but I'm just looking for some clarification on the exact model year. Thanks.

Does it have a distributor? Also a picture of the dash would help identify it. But if it has a distributor it is 94 or older if it doesn't its 95 and newer.

OK... its got packs so that answers that... thanks. I guess i coulda decoded the vin too

94 doesnt have a distributor 92 is the last year they had those i believe ... i know for a fact because i have had both 93 and 94 and the rule is anything after 6/94 would be a 95 cause thats when the new model years come out

Out of curiosity on that last post. Fastpakr did you replace the dash on that '94? I noticed it has readouts for an automatic transmission under the speedometer, yet it's a 5-speed manual.

I actually pulled it from an eBay auction and didn't notice the PRNDL indicator until you mentioned it. Let me go find the listing again...

Ok, HERE's the link. Skimming it quickly, I don't see any explanation for that.

There is a black plactic piece that screws into the instrument cluster to replace the shift indicator, I generally refer to it as a PRNDL-Delete

True, but I think the auction just started. No way it only has 61k miles on it.

Well, my truck was built 11/94 which would make it a 95... but its got the 94 dash?

Did the mazda's keep using the 94 ranger dash up to 97?

No, they switched too. You just have a late production '94.

Ok, thats what i thought, hope yall can see why im a tad confused... thanks for the help tho

Your Mazada is NOT a '95. It definitely 100% is a '94.

Anything after the 9th month (sept.) is the next model year...
