i want to put amp powered componet woofers in the door, the tweets on the pillars, facing back at me....what about the dash speakers? would 2ways sound alright up there?

im going to have two 10in shallow subs with their own amp behind my standard cab.

im not real worried about the "right placement" i forget what its called, but to make everything sound all fancy like, and on stage like...just has to sound good.

you could always try to get creative and add dash speakers, but i'm not familiar with how much space is available up there.

anyway, components amped in the doors, with two 10's would be great for a standard cab. but just follow this one piece of advice, match your subs up with your amp, and if there's not the correct air space available, just get one sub, these manufacturer's know how their product works in an ideal situation, so follow their specifications, especially if you don't have crazy good audiophile experience.

Dont run comps in the doors and dash speakers. It's gonna sound really weird.

Get some 6x8s for the cab corners and a single sub. That'll rock out

the oval shaped speakers are meant to have more surface area, to push more air (like a sub) i am after quality here, and a circular component will provide that.

If you get a NICE set of components for the doors and a nice 2 channel amp those alone will keep up with 2 10" shallow mounts.

x2

you can never go wrong with a properly amped pair of components (quality components, not crap) and a single or double sub set up.

depending on how much bass they want (which if they're a teen they probably want as much as they can get) then you can figure out from there.

a properly tuned, boxed, amped, and signaled single sub can work better than a crappily put together dual sub setup.

keep that in mind, and gl, even though it's a chevy:annoyed:

i know, and understand everything has to be "tuned"...being in the computer field, everything has to be "tuned" lol..

i have looked at these kickers

i wont have a ton of money for them, but i will have some...the longer i wait, the more ill have....and the 2 subs are still an "if" thing too, might just go one.

i am a teen, but i love the highs, the lyrics to music...the bass, is alright...but not my style.

and this S10, is running hell of a lot better than my ranger... sorry, lol.

You would be surprised at the quality a nice set a 6x8s can put out

I agree a nice set of comps are the way to go.

I would run the Phoenix gold rsd6.5cs speakers. There inexpensive but pack a punch. There about 89 shipped from amazon.

i run the PG RSD in my ranger atm. Great pair of inexpensive compoents but im changing to run a pair of comps in each panel (working on my panels now) so im going with 2 sets of AudioPipe comps.

There great starter comps. But there are alot better choices. But for under 100 bux a set shipped. You really can't go wrong.

Personally. I run Polk db651 in my explorer and love em.

thanks for you help guys...it will still be a lil bit before i have enough to buy a set...but you guys got me going in the right direction.

I'm a large fan of component door set ups with full ranges in the dash. Can be an issue if you aren't familiar with wiring up a cross over for them, unless you're like me and have a few electrical engineers as buddies.
