Complete Explorer Swap

I am going to transplant all 1998 Explorer wire harnesses into my 1997 Ranger, along with instrument panel. Is this a bad idea? There is so much extra stuff on the Ex 5.0.

I am right smack dab in the middle of doing this right now with my 95 Ranger and 97 Explorer. Honestly, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed but I hope it will be worth it to have all the extra luxuries that were never available to the Ranger. Can't give you an accurate answer right now to your question "Is this a bad idea?" but at the moment, I'm feeling like it is, haha. I think I've gone too far to go back though. With the message center floor console and auto climate control, I also have to swap over heater core box which isn't that bad, but the wiring harnesses!!! If you have plenty of time, patience, and creativity... go for it.

I really screwed up, I should have just put the whole dash from the doaner in. I can't visualize how the two different harnesses would mate.
