Anyways, bought a 06' Kawi KLX110 on craigslist last friday. Rode it last weekend had a ****ing blast on it, trampled my buddies CRF50 w/ 88cc big bore and my other buddies stock XR50. So I go to the local motorcycle shop today pick up a oil and a oil filter, come home take the thing out around the block. I jumped off a curb with it and the back brakes get locked/jammed. So I ride it back the 50' to my house because obviously there is no way I was going to get the engine warm with the back brakes locked up. Bring it back in the garage take the skid plate off (the bolts were completely bent) of it drain the oil change the filter. I didn't have anytime to put the skid plate completely back on the bike because I had to go to work. I got back from work at 3:00am and I was planning to ride at 9:00am today so I thought I would swiftly put the skid plate back on and get to bed so I could get out of bed to go riding. Well plans changed ****ed around with the bolts for awhile and I was tightening the bracket on the right side of the motor for the skid plate and the back bolt werent lining up. So in process of getting the plate into position to line up with the back threads, the right side bracket that I had been tightening came off with a CHUNK of the engine block. So I'am thinking to myself "Wow, how much of a ****ing dumbass could I be?" So now I'am off to bed to get my very well deserved sleep.

Kawasaki a little something for you:thefinger:

If you broke off a boss that can be fixed. I think I used JB weld. I think I put the bolt in as best I could and put JB weld around it then backed the screw out. I am not sure if I had to put a release agent on the screw to keeep it from sticking to the JB weld.

If I want somthing good, I buy new. I've seen WAY too many ATV's and dirtbikes "hashed and thrashed". They just don't make them durable enough, hope you didn't pay too much for the bike!

did you replace the bent bolts or just try to ram them back in there? if you didnt replace them and knew they were bent then i dont feel sorry for you.

Dude, if you're going to use profanity in your title, PLEASE put it in the TAILGATE.

Nothing makes a site look classier to a new visitor than to see that in CAPS.:annoyed:

Yep, used bikes = be careful of what you buy. I knew of a guy who stripped the bolt holding the sprocket on so he welded it on and sold the bike "As Is".

thanks for stating your opinion, but to be honest I dont really give a flying f**k. So find another person to ridicule.

BACK ON TOPIC-
I didnt put the bent bolts back in but the piece of the motor fell off when the nut wasnt tight yet, I was just lining up the back alan screw holes that go in to where the footpegs are and the piece broke off. I'am going to try that JB weld although are you sure it will work w/ the motor always getting hot and cooling down?
