Just as the title states, I need a driveshaft for my 88 Ranger, single cab, long bed, 114" wheel base, 5spd, 4w4. I am in Massachusetts. Thanks

Anyone that sends me a DM that isn't a old timer member, will have to send me proof of ownership, pictures with you with the part with a piece of paper with your name on it and the days date. This should keep all of the would be email scammers away.

I know that they have them, I am on Therangerstation seeing if someone has one out of their parts truck, that's why I made the post. If no one has one, I also know that rockauto also sells them.

Ps. that is the wrong driveshaft as well, I don't need the front one.

I don't have one.

If someone did knowing your wheelbase may help. Standard cab shortbed, standard cab long bed and supercab all use different length rear driveshafts.

I should have one . (Rear) collapse it and send measurements .

So.... short box? long box? single cab? super cab?

I have a brand new one that will fit a single cab, short box 4x4 truck. I believe it would be part #N96385 at O'Reilly. Let me know if that will work for you.

My bad guys, long box, single cab, 114" wheel base.

No worries, there are a lot of length variants from 1983-1989 so often you have to get really specific with all the information about your truck. I do not have what you need but I will keep my eyes open.

You may want to also consider buying one from a newer truck, 1990 or newer and having it lengthened at a driveshaft shop. You will for sure need the transfer case rear output flange from the donor and probably an extra front shaft flange yoke that you will use on the rear of the shaft... you end up with bigger U-joints that way. The tiny ones that Ford used from 83-89 are OK but the bigger ones hold up a lot longer.

Yea, I already had to have my old driveshaft lengthened and welded many years ago. It finally broke a month ago, major U-joint failure Moog isn't what they used to be. And my rear output flange and front shaft flange yoke is trashed.
I'll look around for a early 90's driveshaft. Thank you, I def need bigger U-joints for sure.
