Compatible Trannys

Hello everboby!! This is my first post. I need help trying to make sure I get the right transmission. I have a 1992 Ranger 3.0 and I found a 1998 3.0 V-6with a good tranny. Will that cross with the 1992 Ranger? Would be cool if somebody could fill me in?
