Company truck or vehicle allowance

I forgot to mention my company would pay for all maintenance on my personal vehicle. Oil, wipers, brakes, ect, just submit a receipt. It worked out great for me. I also only drove about 10,000 miles a year. Mostly just going back and forth to the airport and home. I did drive more then most of the guys though because I had a lot of customers within 4/5 hours of me so I would drive to those.

I've always used a tax accountant, not a CPA, $40/50 a year to submit my taxes. She knows the best way to submit everything so it's as efficient as possible.

I use a guy in Utah for my taxes. He used to own an app for taxes but he shut it down and now I send him pics of everything, he puts it all together and sends fore to sign, and it goes to the IRS.

Easy and worry free

I give my Tax Agent a nice little chunk. But I have a direct line to him and call and ask him anything. I knew him before he was a EA, not a CPA, and I am also helping him with his Squarebody Chevy Dually Truck. Our friendship has it's perks

A tax person costs about the same as what you pay for a tax program. So, that part is a wash.

For my situation, most have no clue when it comes to military and deployments. So, I just pay for the program and do it myself. I’ve been audited a couple of times and was always told I was correct.

Both times were by the local municipality that either didn’t like that I paid so little or had a beef with military. I sent her pile of paperwork and orders proving my case. Certified mail with return receipt. I think she got the message.
