:dunno::dunno:i was wondering if any one could give me any ideal what kind of ranger or rbv i could get some 4.10 gears out of front of whould be very much appreciated i hear they came stock in some trucks mine is a 94 ranger with 4.0

First gen Explorers (the ones with the TTB front axle and boxy look), 4.0L Rangers and I've heard some 4 cyl Rangers got them, but not very common. You'll want the D-35 TTB and that's the sort of stuff you'll find it in. BIIs from the 1990 model year got D-35s too, but they're not very common.

Actually, 4.10 geared D-35's are not very common period. I've been searching for one for awhile. And if you find a Ranger with what looks like a D-35 front axle but has a 3.0L motor, 99 times out of 100 it's a D-28/35 hybrid. Looks just like a D-35 - 10 bolts holding the diff, thick axle shafts, etc. Except when you pull a shaft you find that it's been necked down to a D-28 inside the diff. And the guts of the diff are D-28 parts.

Yeah. End of story is, if you have the axle already and you just need the 4.10s it'd be easier to go get a set of 4.10s.

Yea I still have a Dana 28 in mine cause I love my 4.10s stupidly put a lockright in mine.Anyway front end works really well and now to convert to a 35 is gonna be about 600 bucks.

try to find a 3.0 auto ranger. alot of them came with 4.10s. 94 and up will give you a better chance of being a true 35, but dont go past 97 or youll have standard rotation gears

My Ranger with the 3.0 has the true dana35. It was one of the first things I checked after finding out about the hybrid axles. I think the ratio for 3.0s is more like 50/50. Now the 3rd gen 4x4's with 4cyls, mostly 90% are hybrids.
