I prefer the light output of the kerosene lanterns for general use but there are times that the glaring bright light of a dual fuel lantern just can't be beat.

Kerosene? We were rocking citronella tiki torch oil!

Kinda fun ambient lighting when you don't need to do dishes or warn ships about reefs.

The lanterns with the camping equipment get fed citronella oil to help keep the bugs away. The lanterns for emergency lighting in the house get clean burning kerosene so the girls don't whine and complain.

My father in law knows I am into Coleman stuff and he works at a thrift store so I tasked him with looking for things for me that get donated. He did not disappoint - called me the other day and asked if I wanted some lanterns... so I said SURE! He brings these little gems over on Saturday. Both needed new globes (had one already for the little one) and both needed new pump leathers, mantles of course, and the big one needed the check valve cleaned but they are both in really good shape otherwise and the run great!!!! And, best of all, I didn't already have either of these, so they're both keepers!

Not Coleman, but this seemed like a good place to mention it. I've been watching FB Marketplace lately, trying to snag one or 2 lanterns with metal or plastic carrying cases to protect them in the truck. This thing turned up in my search this week. I've always wanted one for some reason. So, for $20, it's now mine. The wick is pretty short. I'll order a new one on Amazon.

Not much to report since the lantern score but I did get a free gallon of Coleman fuel from a yard sale on Saturday and also a really beat up 502 stove for $1. I maybe shouldn't have bought it but I guess it's a good parts stove.

The guy who gave me the free fuel had a really nice 413G stove too, I probably could have got it cheap but I couldn't bring myself to drag another one home.

I'm working on a couple things. I've been trying to contact a guy on marketplace for a 1 1/2 weeks and he just, today finally remembered he had placed the ad. I'm mostly interested in a liquid fuel lantern with hard case because I'm worried about banging my lanterns around in the truck and breaking the globe. He has such a lantern, plus another 220 series and a 413 stove listed for $100. I think I have him talked down to $75. Going to meet up.on Wednesday.

There's another ad I'm considering for 9 unopened cans of fuel for $100. That's better than Wal-Mart price.

And, scanning the ads, this just popped up. I don't need it and shouldn't spend the money. But it looks so nice. Asking $50.

So, for 75$, a 220k with plastic case, 220h and 413g stove. All in excellent condition.

The 220H lights, but takes a looooong time to get burning. One mantle is torn. Not sure if that affects it or not.

The 220K is flooding/getting liquid fuel past the valve and leaking around the bottom of the generator. Pretty extinguisher to try to light. I'm disassembling it now to see if I can identify the issue. Not what I should be doing right now. But I'm happily distracted with it. Neither of my funnels fit in the hole in the case. I'll enlarge the hole slightly. Came with a new pair of silklites, box of matches and self-closing spout for a fuel can. My 220F with Curious Hound globe fits the case nicely.

Havent tried to light the stove yet. When I got it, the pump was completely untreated from the check valve. Just showed the guy that it wouldn't tighten down and I couldn't build pressure in the tank. Told him "I'm going to have to work on that." Though I knew that was the issue. That's fixed and I oiled the leather. Just need to add fuel and try it.

You need that Sears stove... hell I need that Sears stove. It would match my green Sears lantern perfectly. If only it was local & a little cheaper...

Your 220H: I have had similar problems with lanterns and these things seemed to fix that:
- Pump leather is not oiled enough and not building up enough pressure
- Tank cap is leaking just a bit and not allowing enough pressure to build up
- Generator is gummed up with old fuel and needs to be run for a while to burn out the varnish
- Pump check valve is leaking

220K: I would just try to crank down on the generator nut first, they are often loose for some weird reason and will leak fuel. Might be a bad generator too. I always light new Coleman gear outside for the first few times rather than in the shop because inevitably something like this happens. I had to use a fire extinguisher on a stove one time because it went way out of control in the shop.

Got the 220k running. Fully disassembled it and checked pickup tube, pricker, etc. Re-assembled and it's working.

220h - I suspect gummed up generator. Definitely building pressure.

Working on the stove now. Not getting any flow at all. I think pickup tube is clogged. Have it apart and got to where I can blow through the main channel. But nothing through that little side hole at the top. I think that may be the main path after lighting it and turning the picker down to close off the hole at the bottom. Might try soaking it in vinegar later (have to buy some).

The seller buys abandoned storage units and sells the contents. She had a few other lanterns, including a pair of 220's that need globes @$10 for the pair. I almost took them, too. But really don't need them.
