Coleman Liquid Fuel

Its just an offshoot of lantern nerd

Oooh I like lanterns! All I have sadly though is a cheapo Walmart one I fill with citronella oil for camping.

I'll Hafta find the thread.

I have one of those toasters. We don’t use it often but we have one. It’s light and doesn’t take up much room, so meh...

We had one when I was a kid... making toast on a Coleman stove always made the toast taste like the fuel smells. At least that is my memory of those things.

I would be a cool piece to put on display... but I will pass on the toast.

We used one of those on the propane stove in our pop-up camper when i was growing up. Tastes ok when done with propane.

We just use the camp fire we are cooking over. Propane is for backup, mainly for coffee. Coffee is a must in the morning or people will meet grumpy.

I love cooking on a wood fire. My 508 Coleman is basically for coffee.

Yes... I get grumpy without it.

For a buck and a half I thought I would try it. Figured it would be light and compact for the stove in the camper if nothing else.

Never thought about it but I don’t think I have made toast period for years while camping.

Without the coffee or the Coleman?

Mmmm white gas flavored toast... hard pass. If I was making toast while camping I'd slather some butter on and cook it up in the skillet.

I picked up yet another 425F stove for $5 and a 220F lantern for a buck. Stove works great after replacing the pump rubber, lantern was a mess. Old fuel really fouls up the fuel/air tube and valve - fortunately I had a parts lantern with a complete assembly that I had already cleaned up. Seems to work OK now but the pump is acting weird, builds pressure, but it leaks back out through the hole in the plunger if you don't close it fast enough. Check valve thing maybe, I'll get it figured out.

Yup, sounds like a stuck check valve.

Stupid cats found a box...

And another one lives:

Looks a lot different running in the dark:

Decided I don't really want any more stoves... and then I found this:

1920's-30's. Looks freaking cool... but it was sold. Looks like this fixed up:

I guess I never really knew they made them before WWII...

I never had one that old... I've seen one in all my years of collecting. It was somewhere in the middle of the two you posted. I do remember them wanting more then I was willing to pay.
