As the owner of a company that manufactures the components used in a mass produced cold air induction system, I do have real world experience!
Just so you know, this SUBSTANTIALLY biases your claims. You are not at all a neutral party. You have a financial stake in one answer.
And drag race results are only appropriate if the goal here is drag racing. NO ONE does performance testing at part throttle, and quite a lot of "performance" complaints we get here are that someone has to downshift on hills. Filters don't affect that (except if they foul the MAF). Most of the people here either drive their trucks on city streets or on unpaved trails, mud bogs, and so on. A "free flowing" filter is bad advice especially for the latter case. Mounting the filter in the fog light valence is also highly inappropriate for any vehicle that will be doing any water crossings, at least not without a secondary intake at a much higher location.
We don't know what the original poster's intent is, but the odds are against it being the same as yours.
You'll also find that most of the performance complaints -- and performance claims -- we see confuse power, torque and acceleration.
