Has anyone done this to a 2.9? and if so how did you do it? got any pics? and is it worth it?

Most of us like the real cold air intakes that come with the truck over the fake ones available in the aftermarket.

i got an '88 with a 2.9 and ive done this on mine. I had to custom make mine and i like it. It gave my truck better throttle response and a little more power. Not enough to brag about though. Plus its just different than what you usually see.

I have the factory ford one on mine, works pretty well.

available in the aftermarket

Where's this aftermarket you speak of? :icon_thumby: J/k

Overall it's not worth it in the long run. You'll essentially build an intake for only the sake of building one. And if it pulls in hot air from under the hood, you'll actually kind of be worse off than what you started with.

But what if you move the battery and have the CAI going down there into the front of the fender? Wouldn't that be better?

Doesn't the stock intake pull from the radiator support at the front of the truck? That air is as cold as you can get.
