I am planning on putting a set of extended radius arms on my ranger. I figure with the added travel my coils may want to pop off. Rather than getting limiting straps I was looking for a small bracket that would bolt to the coil bucket and wrap around the top of the coil to secure it in position. I have seen these before but can not find them. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Yup, coil retainers, aka. J clips. Any 80-96' ttb truck should have them, F150 or bronco.

Are you thinking this?

I am thinking though, as I read your msg, that you are not. Sounds like you are referring to something to hold the bottom of the coil into the bucket under extreme flex. Am I correct?

Thats just a tang to hold the coil from slipping out side ways. What he's refering to hooks under the top coil and bolts to the upper coil bucket to keep the coil from falling away from the bucket under droop conditions.

Superlift makes them (or you could easily make something like this yourself, too).

Some sort of engine vibration (or torque) damper (I think it's only the 4.0L that had 'em)

Yeah, it just dampens the rotational force of the engine. I'm not really sure why it's there; that's the motor mounts job.

On my truck I used cable clamps on mine here is a pic from the jeep sping swap in the tech library clamps

I have to get around to doing something hi tech like you guys. I have a hose clamp holding my springs.:shok:

Yanno, if your not into the heavy flexing thing, you could use limiting straps. Just my two cents worth... (1.8 cents us).
