I have a question or 2 about coil springs.

1.) Will Explorer coilsprings work in a Gen 2 ranger?
If yes, do they provide lift, and how much?

2.) 4x4 Ranger coils, are they different? Will they provide me with some lift?

3.) Who makes nice quality +2" coil springs that are affordable?

Well 4x4 are different from 2wd coils. The 4x4 coils make the truck sit 2 inches higher.

f-150 junk yard coils. less than 15 a piece. But idk if they will ride right with you small 2.3l. On mine they ride just like stock.

4x4 dont have coils, they got torsion bars, u can easily get a coil spacer and get those 2" u want, u dont need to replace the hole coil.
ive seen even some with home made spacers

I'm pretty sure TTB 4x4's have coils dude.
I was going to do the coil spacer bit, but I didn't want to replace the bolt, too lazy. Might as well just use a whole coilspring.

Still awaiting an answer about the Explorer coil springs...

no man im sure they dont have coils, if they got torsion bars they wont need coils, besides the coil interferres with the front diff axle shaft

yeah ur right :D my bad, i get confused about the ttb meaning sometimes
isnt torsion bars the same as ttb?
opps sorry if jacking the thread

bump for explorer coil spring answer... there are plenty of them at the junkyard.

cant u measure and compare witha ranger coil?

I could, but was hoping an expert here could tell me.
I'm sure they will fit, but will it give me the lift I need.

My goal is to have 235/75/15's all around.
Currently, I have them on the back only, and puny 215/75/14's on the front.

You can put 235/75/15" on your truck, at least on mine I did with out any lift at all. I am in the same boat looking for info on 4x4 springs or something different that will work. everyone is saying the poly leveling kits break down quick.
