i got to thinking....and yes it hurt. if i was to get 2'' coil spacers for the front of my ranger and blocks in the back would that technically be a 2'' susp. lift? i mean its shocks, blocks and spacers. same thing?

Yea, that would be classed as a 2" suspension lift.

Personally however, I don't like using lift blocks, especially on Ranger and Bronco II springs. Too easy to get axle wrap, which breaks things.

My Ranger sports about a 2" lift in the rear by building a custom leaf pack (I use the truck for hauling often, stock springs just didn't work). Another method to avoid blocks is what I did with my choptop and used a set of drop shackles for a chevy 1500. For the front, I'd recommend getting some F-150 spring perches, they add about 2" of lift. I believe the part numbers for them are somewhere on the tech pages on here... just call around to your local Ford dealers an ask for prices, I found they vary, but you should be able to pick up the pair of spring perches for under $40 (unless prices went up on 'em) and get the drop shackles for about the same price from some place like Summit Racing.
