I ordered some McBay performance coil spacers off ebay and some factory read blocks from a fellow member to get my truck sitting a little higher. Here are some before and after pictures with the new tires on too.

Also, the McBay spacers claim 2.75"-3" of lift, I ended up with about 2.25" with them.

What a dif it makes, Bro!!!! Are you happy with it??

how much trouble is that little 2.3 having pushing those new tires around on the highway with the extra height/weight? :(

That's looking pretty good!

Well I cant use 5th gear anymore on the interstate. Which means im down in 4th cruising about 65 mph at about 2800rpm....which actually gives me better gas mileage. my trip down to college is 118 miles exactly so i filled up before i left and when i got down to school. I did like 5 miles in town and the rest was highway, i know it wasnt much distance to be calculating mileage, but it rocked out 26 miles a gallon when I did it. I can tell it drinks gas in town though. I can still accelerate well enough to not be in the way in town. Merging onto the highway though.... I just hope for a long straight onramp.

Since I was tired of driving a little terd looking 4banger and I was only trying to make it look a little better Im totaly happy with it.

I bought the retread tires for about $440, the lift pieces for about $50, and my old high school did the labor of putting them on for free, and the allignment was $120. So for a little over $600 I got it to be something I dont mind driving. Totally worth it.

But now.. I need to find a job at college. then I can tint it out and get the better style mirrors.

I'd strongly recommend buying a steeper rear gear so you don't melt your clutch/stress out your drive line too bad. What's currently in it?

I got 3.73's in it now. Im just waiting on you to sell me your 4.10's :icon_thumby:

what size tires did you put on there? My wife has the same truck and I want to lift it some for her. What size blocks did you use on the back?

he has 2" blocks on the rear and i believe the equivalent to 31"s, but he has 16" rims

looks really good man, nice work.

I ended up going with a 215/85/16 tire. which is said to be 30.9" tall and 7" wide tread. As far as I know, it only comes in a 10 ply, so they are extremely stiff. Each tire has a weight rating that can almost hold the entire truck.

I ended up using only 1.5" blocks in the back, my taller ones would have given it more rake than I wanted. I was looking to get it as close to level as possible.

Before doing so to your wifes truck let me warn you that it pretty well maxes out your front suspension if you dont get new shocks. My front shocks were only a year old so I kept them on there. It rides like a log wagon now, which I dont mind. But your wife may feel otherwise.

Hey get some washers and put them on top of the shock stud under where it mounts to the frame. I was able to get about another inch of down travel and it made a huge difference. Just look at how much shock stud you have sticking up and you can see how many washers you can add to give you down travel.

Thats a good idea. Ill look into doing that next time im home from school and have my garage available to me. Cause it is really stiff.
