Are coil overs possible on a 85 2wd for lowering?

You could, but wouldn't be lowering much and the ride would be absolutely terrible.

I just want it to be level without cutting more spring.
And it already already rides bad after lowering with dream beams and replacing all steering components. Only thing that is outta wack is the caster/camber

If you're already lowered about as far as you want to go then yeah coilovers would probably be a good option.

I am building a '83 2WD with coilovers. I basically replaced the coil springs, it's been pretty straight forward.

What's the spring length and rate you are running?

Rab,

QA1 model # DD401 (9" spring length). I have not ordered the springs at this time.

That's a nice setup you got going

I just wanna go fast [emoji48]

coilover are ideal for any situation....just get expensive when going big on a 4x4. usually they are cost effective for lowering.

hope you can keep us updated gayle, id really like to see it with wheels.
i was thinking of going this route also, but you can only go so low with a mostly stock style i beam suspension and still align it from what i have been told..

I really wish I would have got a full chassis from a newer ranger lol

Would new hoops have to be put in?
