I've got a 03 ext cab 3.0 2WD. It is my daily driver / work truck. I bought it about a year ago. The previous owner installed some air shocks in the rear. They've leaked and otherwise not been much help. I haul a fair amount of tools and equipment in the bed. I think the leaf spings are pretty much doing all of the work, and the shocks are just taking up space. The rear is a sagging a couple of inches. I also use the truck to haul a small utilty trailer on occasion. I was going to replace the rear shocks with some standard units. It was also suggested that I do an airbag conversion. I don't think I want to go that extreme. Another mechanic suggested coil over shocks as an fairly inexpensive way to get the ride height up to normal, help while towing, ect. This seemed like a good idea, but I am looking for brand and source suggestions.
The rest of the truck is pretty much stock, and has been trouble free. I should roll over 100K this week.

Thanks, Ryan

Monroe makes them for the ranger. I was looking at them a couple of years ago. not that im recommending them, just know monroe should have them for your application.

I didnt think that edge's leaf packs are any different...Mine is just sitting on 2" blocks from the factory.

what if you dont want any lift. what would be the best alternative?

You dont necessarily have to have any more added lift with those options.

Personally I would go with airbags to supplement the leaf if you still want a stock like ride.

I have the Monroes on my 06,they are called Monroe Loadlevelers. They work great.Even when empty the ride is not that rough.

Air shocks are a bad idea, Shock mounts were not ment to hold up the truck or a load. They are there to take out the bounce. Air shocks can possibly cause the rear shock mounts to break.
