Coil or leaf spring for a SAS on a 99 2WD?

Thanks for the info, and yeah, shame shipping is soo damn expensive.
when u have it ready lemme know, we might work something out, maybe i could make another contraband operation like i did for the gears LOL

A machine shop could do it? i know some people that take drive shafts to them to shorten, enlarge.
I know a guy that can weld aluminum. I guess he would be the chosen one for that opertion. He fixes alum, and mag rims.

I imagine some machine shops would be equipped to balance a driveline. The machine looks very similar to a lathe. I would bet if your buddy fixes aluminum wheels, he has balancing equipment.

Yeah, ill stop by his shop and ask him, so when the time comes, ill know where to go.

I need some help here.

Someone could please provide me some M5OD tailhousing pictures? good pictures. also some pics of the output shaft please.

Another thing: there might be a chance to get a BW 1350 electric t-case out of an auto BII, 88 apparently.
Will that t case fit the M5OD tailhousing?

My cousin has a Ranger steering box, he changed the seals and its in great condition.
now heres the issue:
If u turn the steering with the engine off, it turns fine, if the engine is on, it turns to one side, but wont go back, it gets locked to one side, unless u tunrn it off or take the oil lines off apparently.
Whats wrong there? sounds to me that a return line is closed or a valve or something. he said he will fix it and give it for cheap if i get an idea of what can be wrong.

Do you need pics of the 4x4 extention housing? And does it matter if it's installed in a vehicle?

And yes, that t-case will fit.

He has the power valve messed up. Take the return line off at the pump and crank (don't start) the engine. See if fluid comes out with the wheel centered. If so, try again with the wheels cut to the side. If no flow, power valve.

If the return line is truly pinched or blocked, the pump will usually draw a vacuum on the reservoir and the cap will pop like a soda can when you open it.

The power valve can be replaced? or it could me something installed the wrong way?

It will take more than just a new tailhousing. The mainshaft will need replaced also.

Mainshaft= outputshaft?
are we talking about the same?

Yep.... If you look at the exploded view of it in the tech library. The mainshaft or output shaft are different between the two transmissions. If you can find a 4wd trans it might be easier for you than finding a mainshaft and tail housing.

Theres a guy that apparently has a 4wd 4 banger one, but im not sure about replacing mine for a beat up trans.
I was thinking about using that tailhousing and mainshaft. But the idea of taking my trans completly apart is scaring

Any more ideas on how to fix, and whats wrong with the steering box?

afraid we cant put it back together and it wont work as it has to(grinding noises, hard shifts)
