im getting the code 21. iirc its ect out of range. i replaced both sensors and reset the computer with a genesis scanner. wait a few days and the codes returns with other codes following it. 21, 25, 33, 74, 77 my fault, and none erase. 77 was my fault so its not an issue i just thought id mention it.

well i want this b2 to be as normal as possible and be in near perfect running condition. so i need help to figure out this ect code situation first than we will go after the rest.

please and thank you
any ideas on what i need to look at

Both? Thought their was only one ect sensor on any engine. What truck/year is this on?

Being two digit codes this is for the 1986 correct?
Did you bring the engine fully up to operating temp before running the KOER test?
All of the codes seem to be related to the dynamic response test during the KOER test.
The first thing you do is erase the memory, do the KOEO test and when it starts giving you codes end the test on the reader but leave the key on. Then disconnect the battery for at least 1/2 an hour to reset the computer. Then start it and take it for a good drive at least 20 minutes at medium to fast speeds and see how it runs. To confirm the ECT repair just run the KOEO test. Connect the tester and make sure it is set to off. Start the motor and bring the engine up to temp and the turn it off and wait 10 seconds. Turn the tester on and the turn the key on but do not start the motor. Write down the numbers a passing test will be 11-1-11
21 is ECT was the engine at operating temp when you did the test
25 is no knock sensed during goose test
33 is EGR probably related to goose test
74 brake did you touch the brake after test started
77 you did not goose it during the dynamic response command during the KOER test
KOEO key on engine off
KOER key on engine running
Erase the memory and then reset the computer and do not start or run the motor with a sensor disconnected. Allways have the engine up to temp before checking for codes.

Good info Kim. Yes the engine was at warmest temps. But I'll follow your instructions just to be on the safe side.
And yes this is for the 86
