Got my B2 back together got a check engine light.... what kind of code reader do i need to hook into the computer? how expensive are they and can you rent them at an auto parts store?

Got the code reader i get a 21 and 24. 21 is cooling temperature sensor which i believe has to do with the engine not being at running temperature when i test which i cant get it to start... 24 is intake air charge temperature sensor which is the small cylinder attached to the side of the upper intake correct? only thing is if that sensor is bad would that keep the truck from starting? thanks in advance

no if the pcm sees an issue with the circuit it substitutes a value in for it.

thanks for the advice guys... my timing was a little off... adjusted it and it fired right up! pretty stoked to almost have it back on the road its been off the road for a month or so now!!! just gotta get this cat converter situation fixed and we will have another B2 back out there on the road!
