I pulled my o2 sensors. I found a heater wire was shorting on the drive shaft. I also found that they are ford o2 sensors, probably have 200,000 miles on them. I connected my voltmeter to the signal wire and got a bunch of readings with a propane torch. They don't seem to be in very good working order when heated. Anyone familar with Ford o2 sensors? is the black wire the signal wire? there are four wires, two white=heater, one gray=ground, one black=signal. correct?
can I use any o2 sensor as long as its four wire and the correct thread? I'm considering the jy for replacement o2's.
