Hi, 86 B2 with koeo. I get code 67. Improper signals being sent from neutral drive switch, gear switch, neutral pressure switch, clutch switch or A/C clutch. I did not have my A/C on during self test. What is this? How would I diagnose it? I also secondly got a code 1 then code 33 for egr opened or clossed. But I am supposed to check the 1st one 1st. Anybody got any ideas?

Does your vehicle by chance have a manual transmission?

Are you thinking the neutral position switch? I did a google search and that seemed to pop up. What is it? can it be tested?

No, I'm thinking that code 67 on a manual trans usually means it didn't see the clutch pedal get pushed in during the test and that it should be ignored.

Yes.

I can tell you right now that there is a calibration error in the 86 and 87 computer software than CAN cause a code 33. The issue was fixed in 88, so an 88+ 2.9 computer should fix the problem.

It runs good. The only problem other than the emission light, is after it warms up. I leave work and head towards the house( @30 miles). when I get back in aftert picking up milk(?) or whatever. It has a hard time starting. if i hit the key on twice it starts and runs well. on the 1st try it will have a hard time hitting base idle. There is no way I can run the A/C unless I am cruising down the highway. If I stop at a light or slow down it dies. FP is at 32 (lowest) and 40 psi when it warms up. Timing is set to spec. idle is at 900 rpm when warm, about 1200 when its cold. Help, I need my A/C and I want the damn light off!!
Thanks

Take the green vac line at the EGR valve off and start the engine, then go stick your finger over the end of the line and see if there is any vacuum there.

If so, you have found your problem.

No sir. No vacuum. I pulled it off, no rpm change. I put my finger over the hose, felt nothing. Of course its my truck, it would not be that easy!!

I finally got a new computer 88 5 speed. I will try it the next few days. Hopefully it will work. I drove it the end of the week, and it rode well. I had no problem with the A/C on and the eratic idle. It fluctuated just a little, enough to keep running correctly.
