Now that I've got my 92 Ranger 2.3l running, it's still throwing a code 328. The book says something about an EGR voltage lower than expected. Can anyone tell me if I can just ignore the code (Dumby light does not light for this code), will it effect the engine performance and if it will, how to proceed trouble shooting.

Tell you what...disconnect the battery for about 20 min and then re-connect it and see if the code is still there. I have cleared codes this way and they did not come back. If it comes back then you might want to clean all the connections that you can get to (if possible for that EGR area).

Clean the egr, just dont get anything corrosive on any rubber parts. Also check the wiring to the egr and look for open spots or corrosion. AAnything that might hinder the conductivity. When all else fails, egr is inactive at wide open throttle LOL.
