clutch wont pump up

i have a 84 ranger 4x4 with a 2.8 in it. it would shift but i would have to wait for the clutch to have pressure again. i bled the clutch and it got worse. i replaced the clutch pump and bled it again and now there is no pressure at all.
would should my next step be?

bleed it again. these things are notoriously difficult to bleed. several methods have been discussed on the forums, a quick search should get you some info.

I recommend bench bleeding it. Remove the whole works from the vehicle and suspend the master cylinder higher than the slave (easy to do because your 84 should have an external slave if it's like my 84 BII) then gravity bleed it by cracking open the bleeder screw slightly. I had trouble with my 84 last year when I replaced the master and slave and I did this to finally make it work.

that's a great video. really does a good job at illustrating and explaining exactly whats going on in these systems. the OP's system isnt gonna be exactly the same, but the same principals apply.
