had my clutch replaced about 2k miles ago. when i picked up the truck, the clutch engaged when the pedal was just off the floor. now the pedal is farther off the floor before engagement. is there a "break in" which would explain this?

are there any where indicators which can be inspected?

fwiw, i got 145k from the oem clutch. the replacement is a luk.

It's normal.

was the flywheel machined? if so was a proper size shim added between the crankshaft and flywheel?

if not the clutch may not disengage thus causing premature wear.

The clutch bolts directly to the flywheel...no shimming needed.

yeah you dont need to shim anything... hydraulic clutch systems are self adjusting by design

If you want an explanation, it's this: After the clutch hydraulic system is bled and the truck driven, the system continues to rid itself of the small amount of remaining trapped air (there is always some). This results in the engagement point of the clutch to be higher on the pedal.
