sorry if im bringing up an old topic here. but i have a question. i was looking at potential drivetrain problems on my bronco 2 and discovered that most of the "factory" slave cylinders are actually made of plastic. since mine caught fire and ive replaced everything that leads to the tranny for the clutch hydraulics to work and it still leaks im guessing that the fire toasted my slave cylinder in the process. since i have to drop the tranny to replace this item i figured i might as well go ahead and replace the clutch assembly and flywheel too. now for my question. what if there are any gains would i see by installing a clutch from a '91-'94 explorer? the price difference is only about 20 bucks for the clutches so not a big deal for me there. also is a 1st generation explorer clutch a direct "plug and play" with my bronco2 or will there need to be modifications done to adapt the "newer style" clutch to an older tranny set up. basically im looking for any and all info you can give me on this. if its as simple as just removing the old clutch assemble and installing the new one and i will get more "grip" and longer clucth life, etc ill go ahead and run with this but if i have to make modifications and the gains are very little or none at all then im just gonna save myself 20 bucks and get the stock sutup. so please let me know if this is worth it or not. thanks again.
