Ok, so my clutch is sliping really bad. i have a 85 ranger. 5sp. somebody told me that my "shifter boot, clutch boot" something might be torn like a lil rubber boot. i dont know. so thats ? number one. #2 would be how hard is it to change the clutch in my truck, and were should i get a clutch from. im not lookin to spend a arm and a leg on a cluth cuz i have future plans for this truck as far as the moter and trans are concerned. so if any body could be any help. TIA!

No one knows how to answer a question like "how hard is it to change a clutch?" It requires clairvoyance. We need to figure out how good YOU are with a wrench, how far you live from a machine shop, and so on.

If it's slipping really bad, it has either already stranded you, or it will very soon. But you knew this, right?

Im pretty good with a wrench. a machine shop aint no big deal there is like 5 with a 20 mile raduius of my house. so thats no prob.

Lets just put it this way, the clutch is so bad, i can shift and down shift throught every gear with out touching the pedal. and it goes in gear with ease when i do it. it revs up constantly when i drive it. like there is no, some times it slips, some times it dosent. or its bad in the morin vs. at night. none of that. its bad all the time. so do i gatta unbolt the t-case before i take the tranny down? is it easyer to leave it on the tranny, tips tricks etc......... is it a pain in the ass for some one who has never done it before, or can u basically do it with ur eyes closed. what clutch would u recomend, stock, ram, spec, ????????? what would be the best to go with rite now???? i.e. "how hard is it to change a clutch in my truck".
