clutch slave

Mine actually just pops right off...not even sure how it is held in there...but just have to remove the pedal connector and the rod will come out through the firewall with the master...and when you get that out, you will see a small roll pin pressed in at the bottom...knock that out and you will have the line free...

I replaced mine about four years ago due to someone not being able to remove the quick release and actually cutting the line...it was held together by a compression fitting...still have it somewhere...lol

Yea. I ended up just breaking the little bushing off and buying a new one. I got everything put back in, but bleeding it is taking forever. Anyone have any idea as to how long that takes?

Cause I bled the system enough to have to fill the clutch reservoir three times and the pedal is still VERY easy to push down.

no, you have to bench bleed it, if you don't, there will be an air bubble trapped at the top of the master bc the genius who designed it is a sadistic SOB.

take it all back out of the truck, from the reservoir on down to the hyd line (disconnect it at the quick-disconnect ) find somewhere to hang it up and stretch the line out, not enough to damage the line, just enough that the air bubbles can escape. (obviously you want the reservoir up) fill the reservoir, and pump the master as best you can by hand, while you hold it so the end with the lines on it is angled up. as you pump the master you should be able to feel it get tighter and probably see some small bubbles come out the reservoir (as long as the quick-disconnect isnt damaged, nothing should come out of that end at this point. tap on the lines a few times to dislodge any bubbles, give her a few more pumps and re-install the assembly in the truck, being careful not to let air back in.

at this point you should be able to bleed the slave just like you would bleed the brakes.

belive me on this, i had clutch problems for a month before i just said screw it and re-did the entire thing from reservoir to slave, pressure plate and disk included. now the cluctch is about the only thing in that drive train that works
