Clutch problem

I just finished my 302 swap and encounted a problem with my clutch not disengaging all the way. i'm using the stock master cylinder with a slave cylinder i got off a full size bronco with a straight six and a t18. when i press on the clutch pedal, theres not enough throw to disengage the clutch so it grinds gears really bad when i shift and i cant be in gear and step on the clutch pedal and not move. bigger master cylinder maybe?
 
i'm having the same problem with my '94 with the 4L.
 
All depends on what slave and master you are using. The slave has to have around 1 1/2" movement to operated the clutch properly. The master has to have enough volume when depressed to move the slave that far. Most masters have 1" of travel and can be anywhere from 5/8" to 7/8" dia bore. You both talking about a push or pull slave set-up? This whole problem was just covered down a couple of threads. Look for postings by Teddyzee.

Another thing to consider, is the clutch fork needs preload on it. Mine has a couple inches of preload, it take a little while to find a balance between full release, and zero slip.
