I bought my truck a year ago with the tranny, driveshaft, and what was left of the clutch in the bed for 400 bucks. (a steal i thought)

I put the new clutch in and slave cylinder etc. i didnt replace the master. Put a new line on. (owner cut it) dipshit

about 3 months ago the slave cylinder went. So I replaced it. A few days ago I got in my truck and the pedal was soft and engaging right off the floor. Looked under neath and there was one strip off fluid coming out of the bell housing.

I topped the fluid off and the pedal has been ok i guess but i checked fluid other night and it was dirty.

Could it be the slave again or maybe the line?

Also are slaves known for lasting short periods of time in these?
95' mazda b2300 4x4 235/75/R15 tires..Sorry so long

My guess is there was some contamination in there.
Normally the clutch hydraulics are quite reliable, but any dirt in there does seem to affect the slave seals prematurely.

I would flush out the whole system (or better, replace both the MC & slave together).
