Driving...driving... driving.... BOOM! No pressure in the clutch!

Does anyone have the same problem?
I have to pump the clutch petal at lease 50 times before pressure returns to normal.

I think it may be my slave, but I really really dont wanna take apart the tranny...

Help anyone?

p.s. - Seems to do it more often when raining out?!!!?

Sounds like the slave bubba. Consider changing the whole clutch while you are in there.

Check for brake fluid around the bell housing.

Rain will make a leak in the system more noticeable since brake fluid is very hydrophilic.

It's the slave. Same thing happened to my ranger and it made the 5 hour drive home pretty interesting.

If it's any help, my clutch slowly got worse over the course of a couple of weeks - had to pump it up etc. I didn't know whether it was the master or the slave so I just replaced the master (pulling the tranny didn't seem like a lot of fun) - fortunately I got lucky.

Any of you guys have any ideas about common failure modes - or ways to isolate one from the other?

x2. In the morning, when I pull out of my driveway, its really hard to shift. Even when its warm, its not as easy as it should be.

About two years ago, the clutch started making a terrible grinding noise, and sometimes wouldn't disengage at all. Did it for two days and quit, no more noises since. Lol, probably not a good thing?

Slave covers the bell housing area in brake fluid.

Master covers the carpet in brake fluid.

The line just covers everything in brake fluid.

I've seen a little bit of oil on my floor (vinyl, now carpet) and wasn't exactly sure what it was. You're saying its probably the master cylinder leaking, as in cracked plastic or a bad seal? Replacement of the whole thing would be best?

Mine just did the same thing 2 weeks go changed to clutch,.slave and ask the seals on the trans. Then my head gasket blew
So I spent all last weekend doing that but I got a chance to remove my a/c abd install 24lb injectors and an accel coil :thumbup:

Sent from my SCH-I510

In my case the rod seal blew out and so every time I pushed the clutch in, instead of releasing the clutch it would squirt copious amounts of fluid onto my floor.

Until I emptied the reservoir anyway, then the clutch just dropped to the floor.
