Clutch plunger won't stay on peddle

Just replaced the master cylinder for the clutch on my son's 94 ranger and now the clutch plunger keeps coming off of the clutch peddle. Any thoughts on a fix. My son is talking about gluing it. I am thinking of taking the little plastic retainer out and safety wiring the plunger to the peddle

Dorman makes a kit that includes the proper bushing. Available in the "Help!" section of your local parts place for about $7.

Yes, either a self help repair kit or go to a junk yard and get a new bushing...those little plastic arms can break off...I usually try to grab a couple while I'm in there...that and the little plastic retainers for the first gen fuse panel...but yours is 3rd gen so not sure what else you can snag...

I would not try to make the connection immovable for obvious reasons. I'm not sure why they didn't make the stub a bit longer and put a cotter pin or something similar in there...they can be a pain when they start coming off all the time...I had an added problem with the actual plunger coming out of the master as well...

just go to the dealer. they are only 7-9 bucks. i just had to get one for my 93. I have bought a few parts from the dealer for this truck. if they dont have something they usually get it next day anyway.
