I have an 89 ranger with a 4.0 and a 5 speed tranny out of a 92 explorer in my ranger. The ranger had a 5.0 and an automatic before I converted it. The explorer drove fine and the clutch worked great when I pulled it. Once installed the problem is the clutch will not fully disengage. So I replaced the clutch and slave cylinder. This changed nothing so I put in a new master cylinder and this also changed nothing. Could the clutch pedal out of the explorer not be right in the ranger? I just assumed that it would bolt in and work. I have been working on this for six months and have tried almost everything.

wel, the pedal isn't yur problem, as they are the same from '89-94
and funcionally identical (in an '89) back to 83

Basically a pedal as late as '94 will work back to '88.
(earlier if you use a later clutch intrlock switch and DO NOT have cruise control)

an '83-87 pedal will have an extra "arm" for the earlier style clutch interlock
and another detail for working the cruise control switch.

The only other difference is that '93-94 pedals have a larger "pad" on them.
