so i just put a new clutch in my truck. while i was replacing all the bearings, the dipshit tech i was working with bent the spring that goes on the trainsmission shaft, its the one thatis on the slave cilynder. i bent it back, but ever since then the truck clutch pedal has just gotton weaker and more free travel in it. the clutch still works fine, but i fear if it gets any worse i wont be able to drive it anymore. oh and its a 99 ford ranger five speed with the 3.0 in it

time to replace the slave cylinder.....if you don't, it will leak all over the clutch causing you to have to replace the clutch.....

more than likely it is the slave cylinder.......Rangers are well known for slave cylinder failures...

But you never know, need to find the leak...
If leaking from bellhousing - Slave
If leaking down the line and or firewall - Master
