Hey fellas,
So about three to four weeks back i had my clutch replaced, everything that goes with it too. New flywheel, new throwout bearing, clutch, clutch master cylinder and all that jazz. Well i ended up havin to bleed the dam thing correctly the day i picked up, but thats another story.. Well today i noticed a funny noise that was only audible with my foot off the clutch, and the shifter in neutral. Sounds like a light scraping/scruffing noise like something is rubbing on something else- vague i kno but thats all ive got as of now.. I never noticed it before. When i push the clutch pedal to the floor the noise continues for about a second, maybe thats the time it takes the input shaft to stop spinning?? What could cause this? Is this a clutch problem or tranny problem?
Thanks,
Derek

It's probably fine. My truck makes a little noise with the clutch engaged and tranny in neutral as well. I think it's the sound of the input cluster spinning. Maybe when the clutch was changed the shifter boots were not replaced with as good of a seal or there was some dampening material not reinstalled, and that's why you didn't notice it until now.

Verify that your tranny is topped off with clean ATF and I think you're good to go.

Thanks Evan,
I changed the transfluid about 2 months ago but if those butt-holes couldnt bleed a clutch theres a good chance they leaked trans fluid all over the place.. Ill check that when i go over my buddies this weekend.

FWIW, sometimes new throwout bearings make noise for a little while until they get broke in...you replaced the flywheel and master cylinder also? never seen a flywheel that was so bad it couldn't be re-surfaced..
