Im new to the Ford Ranger deal but i jus got a 1989 Ford Ranger 2.3L 5 speed tranny. Now its been sitting in my yard for awhile because my brother blew the slave cylinder. Ive began and took the tranny down but now the clutch line is givin me crap. The white plastic ring is basically gone because it looks like someone else tried to bang on it. So what is the best way to remove that line from the slave cylinder? Could i simply cut the line and join it back together with brake line hose and clamps? I need help its my only ride and its killin me:annoyed:

never use hose on a clutch line, youll blow the thing out faster than a mofo

yea thats wat i figured...so any tips or tricks to removin that line..im fixin to cut the slave cylinder where the line goes into...that way i wont hurt the line itself and i will be able to at least get it out from the tranny and have more room to work on it

break the collar of the slave cylinder. you have to have the end on the line so be careful.

i figured out the best way to do it. There is a pin on the slave cylinder which holds in the shaft that the line plugs in too. You can take something that is small enough and knock that pin back. You dont have to knock it out, jus enough so that it releases the shaft and you release the whole thing from the slave cylinder. I wasnt able to get the clutch line to come off from that piece so i jus reused it on the new slave cylinder and it works fine.
