clutch line removal

i am replacing a manual tranny in a 1990 ranger 2.3L, the hydraulic clutch line that goes into the tranny, is there a trick to disconnect it from the slave cylinder or does it just pop out? Also how do you disconnect the hydraulic clutch line from the master cylinder?

There should be a small round white plastic clip on the end of the line going into the tranny, you need to push that 'in' towards the tranny with either the tool or a flathead screwdriver, then pull the line out. Sometimes it comes out easy, sometimes it's a PITA.

Like BlackBII showed, you need the removal tool (the easiest way, I think), and it should come off.

If it doesn't, just keep wiggleng the hell out of it, in and out, and side to side, and it will eventually come out. Mine was a real pain when I did it.

I believe there is a roll type pin that holds the other end into the clutch master cylinder, you may need to pull it out of your truck, mine is right under the brake booster and hard as hell to get at, not sure if yours is the same

Yeah, pull the master cylinder out, two 10mm bolts, under the brake booster. Then you have to punch out the roll pin and pull the line out.

what a pain in the a$$. i dont have any bolts on the engine side of my truck. its a 2000 2wd 3.0

i figured it out i had to remove the whole master cylinder to take out the line it wasent hard at all
