I have a 98 ranger 4x4 3.0 w/ 5 speed manual. 125k miles. Truck has been running fine. Iwas at a friends house yesterday, went out to move the truck to the front of the house, everything was fine. When I went to leave an hour later, got in to start it and when I pressed in on the clutch, it just dropped to the floor with very little resistance. Couldnt get the truck in gear. I am assuming that this is caused by the clutch master cylinder going bad, but just wanted to see what you guys think. Also, how hard is it to replace it myself? I would say i have moderate repair abilities but have never replaced a master cylinder. Just in case, what would you think it would cost to get it done at a repair shop? thanks for the help.
