first.. ive searched and didnt find what i was looking for. i have a 96 2.3 splash that has a non tach cluster. i swapped a 4.0 in to it last year and everything works great.. i went to swap the gauge clusters with a tach one and i believe it was from a 95 ranger 4.0. everything plugged in but i noticed the check engine light wouldn't come on with the key on. it was in a different place. what year cluster would be a direct swap? also when i hooked up the tach cluster i had an aftermarket one and noticed bother clusters were not showing the same rpms.. my friend swapped in a 2000 cluster out of and explorer in to his 3.0 97 and it was fine didnt have to change anything.
