I got my truck stuck in a mud pit last night, and when i was driving it to work this morning i noticed the suspension making a lot of clunking noises as i drove, it calmed down by the time i got to work 30 miles later.

any idea what i should be looking for as a cause?

oh, i nearly forgot, i *did* get a little air time last night.

You could have a wheel bearing going out or ball jont, even a u-joint. I would check stuff out brefore driving it anymore. Could be rocks or mud inside if the stuff to too.

if it quieted down as you got to work.... i would say that you packed mud into the front and by the time you got to work you had slung most of it off

i would take it to a carwash and spray it off to get rid of the rest and allow you to inspect for any other possible damage

well, i washed it off, and i was pulling on the top of the passenger tire while it was sitting in a parking space, to check for play, and there was some, but as i pushed the truck back and forth sideways, it didn't look like the play was in the ball joints.

wheel bearing possibly? anyone?

i thought a wheel bearing would make some pretty obnoxious noises when they were going out.
