2000 3.0 At 4x4. During normal driving on the street I get a clunk under my feet when accelerating and sometimes will feel it when coming to a stop. Have had the slip yoke serviced and changed the trans mount. I put it in 4x4 high as a test and it does not happen. Mechanic thinks it is slop in the chain in the transfer case. Any thoughts. Thank you

I have the same thing, mostly on acceleration but coming from the rear more than the front. From what I have been told, its the Slip Yoke....needs some attention/service

I once studied an excellent cutaway/exploded view of the BW13-54 transfer case, and IIRC, the chain is NOT driving anything in 2-HI mode...

... so at least you can cross off one mechanic to NOT go to for t-case service... lulz. :icon_thumby:

I had a clunk like that and it turned out to be a u-joint. Did you check those?
