in my 4 years of doing electrical work i have NEVER seen a vapor barrier behind the sheetrock....i have always seen it on top of the sheeting underneath the siding, thats also how we did it when i worked for a contractor...besides what is the difference between a vapor barrier and a breathable house wrap?
vapor barrier doesn't "breathe", a vapor barrier is meant to defend against water vapor and condensation. A house wrap is meant to protect the frame from rain water, ect. that gets past whatever your facade. So it goes on the outside behind your facade, and the vapor barrier typically goes between your sheetrock and insulation.
