been a pretty decent wrench turner all my life so when it happened i immediately thought starter, but i went after the battery first and found loose connection, fixed the issue. fast forward 6 months in the dead of Minnesota winter its happening again, got under it had my bud turn the key and i whacked the starter and it started right up- was fine for a couple days and then happened again. pretty much been rinse and repeat every couple starts since. only thing is the starter is brand new and sounds fine when it does start. is this a guaranteed starter issue? or is there another possibility?

Cable or connection issue could cause this as well

Check all ends of both positive and negative cables from battery to starter including grounds. Flex the cable as sometimes the cables corrode inside the insulation.

Assuming this is the 94. I recently had to replace the start solenoid on the inner fender. Had similar issues. Positive cable from the battery goes to one side, other side to the starter. Key switch energizes that solenoid when starting…good luck
