a 3" BL, 2" leveling kit up front, fx4 leaves in the rear with a factory block (only if needed). its an 89 2wd extended cab.

as it is now, it clears 31's like it was made for them. they fit PERFECT and i can max the steering and suspension out in every way shape and form and they dont really rub (except on the top of the passenger side front fender). i seem to have more than enough room in the rear, and the factory blocks arent even on. but i can use em if needed.

this truck isn't a serious wheeler. i just want it to look nice and i could really use 33's cause without overdrive my little 31's are torture on the highway.

in fact, i've got an even better question- what's the MAX amount i can lift my 2wd TIB front end WITHOUT radius arm and axle beam drop brackets? of course i'll get the appropriate alignment bushings and all that...

could i get away with a 2" daystar kit AND explorer or 4x4 coils?

nobody has answered you yet! well i cant help you, but i hope people will pay alittle more attention to this thread

Speaking from experience... you CAN fit 33's on a stock height truck with a LOT of trimming. The picture below should give you some idea. I had to cut out about 5" of fender and remove a lot of the plastic inner liners. The tires still rubbed on the radius arms but it is really hard to avoid that with stock arms. I'd say with what you mentioned you should be able to clear them without a lot of cutting.

What is so special about the FX4 leaf springs? I was under the impression that they were the same as any other Ranger.

Looking at your info, having a 302 won't get you much lift with Exploder coils. 2.5in is about the absolute minimum you should lift on stock brackets. You probably could get away with 33's with fender trimming. Just check for frame clearance.

believe it or not, my truck sits higher in the front with the 302 than it did with the 2.9! but anyways, what does 2.5" of lift translate to in a washer stack for the coils hahaha?

and i think im going to end up running 17" dick cepek dc-1's so maybe i'll go with a slightly skinnier metric sized tire thats around 33" maybe a little less so i dont have to worry bout frame clearance too much.
