cleaning and dressing up intake manifold

Hello, i just acquired a new intake manifold that will eventually end up on my truck, i was wondering if any one had any tips on how to clean it really well. Is there anything i can jsut dunk the whole manifold in?
Has anybody ever polished the exterior of their manifold? What were the steps you used, i was figuring just a grinder with fine grit to knock off all the little bumps and then buff and buff and buff...

Yep...on the right track.
I soaked mine with carb cleaner, spray can type...several times, (BTW, it was off the engine). then power washed it. worked pretty good.

seen a couple who have painted the outside & made it look very sharp, then seal coated it.

don't paint it....unpainted aluminum disapates heat....the paint will hold heat into the intake....a hot intake isn't a good thing....
