Hey looking for some ideas for low end torque/power for my 2007 B4000. I find that the power above 3000 is fine but i just want to et it moving a little faster from 1500-3000. Any ideas, or what have you done?

yeap... gears, or a power added, nitrous... blower or turbo would help, but are more intended for top end...

not much will get you more power at the bottom end, other than adjusting timing, you can get adjustable timing chains... edelbrock makes one that you can change your valve timing half a tooth advanced or half a tooth retarded, one will give you more low end, one will give you more high end, but i don't know if they make one for your motor...

get a set of 4.10's i've got the exact same truck as you virtually... and i've got lots of bottom end...

Gears or tires

What size tires are you running? What gears are in that rascal? Alomst NOTHING can be done for the engine. So you have to make use of what else there is to get more power at low rpm. That, my friend, is gears and tires.
If you have oversize tires put the stock size back on there.
You are aware there is a sticker on the drivers door post that has both the factory tire size and the factory gear ratio on it? Read the sticker and get back here with the findings.

Factory sized tires 255/70 R16's gear size I can't find but for some reason I believe that their 3.77's

Well!

Factory sized tires 255/70 R16's gear size I can't find but for some reason I believe that their 3.77's

Them are 30.1 inches tall. If they came on the truck and you do have a 3:73 then you should be Ok. I have a 30 inch tire and a 4:11 gear and really like the drive.
Look at the sticker and see if that tire CAME ON THE TRUCK. If not then post the results here.
Also the gearing is on that sticker. Post back here what it really says. Here are the possabilitles...

Not original tires but still 30.1" tall 255/70R16 and gears are 4.10... I know you said that you liked the ride... Could it be a tune up issue? KM's are 73500 and I just changed out a very dirty air filter and replaced it with a Wix but while its got a little more power gas milage has dropped slightly.

The factory tune on an 07 with 73,500 miles should be about half worn.. I wouldn't touch it! If it isn't missing and jumping new plugs and wires won't do one damn thing.
Milage will vary from winter to summer fuel. My 02 4.0 has the factory wires and plugs in it. I havn't even pulled one plug to look at it..
Did your 4:10 come in an R-7... mine did.

Mine did as well. I'm not quit sure what to do about the gas milage drop I was constantly getting 400km per fill which is about 60 liters. On the last tank I got just over 360 kms same driving

that is terrible, i'm getting 450ish km per tank on a 62L tank, with my 4L with 4.10's super cab, 4x4, and 33x12.5" tires and 15x10: steelies (wheels weigh about 75-100 lbs a piece)

put a muffler on it, i put a magna flow, noticed a power increase and mileage increase... (most of the power was that to keep it at 100 i barely have to have my foot into it, where as with stock exhaust and the 33's i had to have it about 1/4 throttle)

Yes and no. Turbo's are designed for better top end power, because they run off exhaust expansion they are almost limitless. SUperchargers however, are run by the pulleys and limited by rpms. They are designed for awesome low end torque. and put power to the motor right off the jump. For 1500-3000 rpm power a supercharger or nitrous is your best bet. With Nitrous a 125 shot is equivalent to 125 horsepower but anything over 125 I would def run meth/water injection to prevent detonation. I would prolly go with a more expensive wetshot too so you dont take the chance of blowing your intake off, however for less than 175 shot either will work.

A supercharger is something that I may look into, however this is my work truck and my personal truck. Also as I said earlier that my gas milage is suffering, it was 360 on the last tank, and so far on this tank I would normally be at 200kms but I'm only at 150km so far which makes it a 300km tank. Horrible gas milage around 12.5mpg any ideas?

i would say your lack of power is due to a tuning issue, see if your timing is right, if something in the computer has retarded your timing, it could kill both mileage and power, check for vac leaks, burnt plugs, blow by, roasted wires, plugged air filters, plugged exhaust... it's something wrong, you don't need to go better than stock... i think your problem is with maintence or wear... the numbers you are posting are terrible... not even compairable to my truck, which is virtually identical!

you are absolutely right, but turbos would still give low end power (a small turbo that can spool up easily, would work better of course)

thinking back, this started shortly after we had a big downpour up here in Winnipeg, water was rising in rivers at 8" an hour and I was driving multiple times through deep water to help keep families houses dry. This actually got my horn choked full of water creeping through water very slowly. I'm starting to think thia may of messed up a couple things, anf knowing how high up the horn sits what would you suggest I do to fix this problem? My first guess is that water entered the tailpipe but I'm not 100% sure, so possibly a clogged cat? Any way to check that? All ideas appreciated.
