Chrwilkins30's build

Ordered from rockauto a 4.0 clutch, flywheel, slave, manual starter, and new line (couldnt get the old one out and ended up cutting it). Also a new egr tube and gasket. They need to get here ASAP.

When you get the new starter, could you post pictures of the difference between a auto and manual starter???

There is about 3 or 4 very small cracks and pin holes that need to be addressed.
Just one of them

Already got the patch cut and shaped and might weld it in tomorrow. I have to weld this outside and its 5 degrees outside, so we will see.

Thank you, but I wonder why Ford couldn't make it to where the Ring gear would be the same on the two, that way they would have only had to make one type of starter.

I guess they wasn't smart enough to consult with me first.

Late updates. The engine is in under hood wiring is all done other than headlight, clutch is bench bleed and installed, tcase and driveshafts are installed. Here's where I ran into a snag. I believe that I figured it out but just to confirm.

The fuel lines. The b2 has the dual pumps and I have removed the b2 lines up to the fuel pump on the frame rail and the fuel filter. Now this is the part confusing me.

On both engines the filer is on the different side of the fuel lines so I don't know where to leave the fuel filter and where to connect everything. The pics in the tech library show the male end needs the adapter from the b2 lines to be put on the fuel filter side. but what about the other side that has the female fitting that the original ex filter connected too.

Any help. I keep finding info on 89+ fuel lines but not much on the dual pump systems?

Here's an easier question than trying to understand what I was trying to say. On the original b2 fuel pump which line is the feed and which is the return. Same question goes foe the original EX lines from the motor side. Id like to get the fuel system done tomorrow if possible.

I have no clue, I wish I could help you.

I pulled the ex tank today in an attempt to use those line. I read that the lines will work with the b2 sending unit they just use a different style connector. If I get a little time wed or thurs ill finish pulling the line and see if they will actually work and be long enough. I might aswell just pull the sending unit and see for myself while is the feed and retuen since it will be sup34 easy to tell with it removed.

Just pulled the lines from the ex and got them put in the b2. Ex lines fit the b2 sending unit but they are about a foot short of reaching the engine side lines. Any one know the size of the lines, both return and feed? Im just going to extend them with fuel rated hose.

Got the lines installed. Ended up using the plastic original lines to extend them. Only needed about 6 inches extended to be able to reach. Other than that it all went in pretty easily. Only thing left on the outside is the fuel pump adaption plugs and starter wires, install the battery box and battery, Wiper motor splice, and bore out the hole for the wiring to plug into the cab.

I have paid vacation mon-Fri next week so hopefully Ill get a ton done and get this thing back on the road.

Have you looked into Haynes manuals? They sometimes have the wire schematics.
