Chrwilkins30's build

You know the sad part? I just pulled the engine out of an 08 Mustang and it has fewer wires than that pic.

Anyone know where to get the ypipe to manifold flange. Cant seem to find it anywhere. One is completely rusted apart and would like to replace them all when I take them apart.

Got all the underhood harness pulled apart, and removed the belt, a/c compressor, and alternator. Also sprayed the engine down with degreaser.

I'm going to wait for all the parts to really remove anything. Until then I'll clean alot.

Cleaned alot of crap off the engine. Received all the parts from rock auto.

New water pump, thermostat, idler pulley, and a gaterback belt.

Still have valve cover, oil pan gasket, spark plugs and wires. Finishing that tomorrow.

Going to get all the clutch and stuff tomorrow from Advance.

Got the spark plugs and wires on, the passenger side valve cover gasket. On the driver side of course the egr tube starts to bend and im not going to risk breaking it at this point. I don't really have time to be dicking with working 10hour days. Rockauto has the part for 50 bucks but I don't have time to wait for parts so the driver side valve cover will be put on hold.

Also havent had luck obtaing the flange for the y pipe, and the old one doesnt even fit over the oxygen sensor bung when removing. So If I end up having to buy a ypipe I will buy the egr tube at the same time.

I'm glad mine is a non EGR

I had an idea. I can get the egr pipe nut off on the intake manifold side. Can I just put a cap on that side of the egr valve and cap header. Would that cause any problems keeping the egr valve in place And not having it go anywhere. I would usually just take the egr valve off completely but the lower bolt snapped off and id rather not have to deal with it if possible.

No updates on the 4.0. Havent had time and classes started back up. Since the last time I went offroad, less than a week ago (Just haven't uploaded pics) the lockrite is acting up. On left turns only it engages then disengages then engages then disengages. It damn near rocks the truck. Nothing happens on right turns what so ever except that you can hear it ratcheting. What could possible be the problem.

Mine will do that on any tight turn, turning into a parking spot for example. I have to push in the clutch and shift to neutral otherwise it will do what you just described.

It never did this until I went offroad and really used it. Why is it only on left turns? It was barelyeven noticeable unti later that day.

maybe something got bumped around ?!? or one axle is some how pushing or pulling on the stuff, and causing it ?!?!

Don't really know, just spit balling, but it has to be something since it only happen in one turn and not the other.

Ill pull the cover off once I have the vehicle dowb for the 4.0 swap. Im really hoping I can start within the next two weeks. But since classes start this week I just don't seem if there is enough time in the day with work. It will prob take 2 days to pull the 2.9 and drip the 4.0 in. Maybe a few days for under dash wiring plus removal of the ex interior wiring. I just dont have time to do it all in the time span id like.
